Andrew studied Accounting and Finance at Dundee University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) with Price Waterhouse. After qualification, he joined Bank of Scotland in Central Finance. During his 27 years with the Group, he gained extensive experience, primarily in management reporting and budgeting. He has managed various teams and for many years was an integral part of the team reporting the Group’s monthly results and forecasts up to the Executive and Board. This experience has embedded the view that the ability to apply critical thinking and be able to simplify and articulate complex ideas to non-experts are key skills with ever more significance in today’s world. His experience outside of work also includes a stint of being treasurer at his local church.
