Guidance for Parents and Pupils

We communicate primarily with teachers and schools. We also receive communications from individual pupils. In these situations, we respectfully request that enquiries from individuals are sent via email from a parent or guardian to ensure that we comply with safeguarding guidelines.

Any such enquiries should be accompanied with the name of the school to allow the Office Administrator to check if there is an existing relationship.

If you are interested in joining a Speak Up Scotland debate workshop, we would be delighted to offer this to your school, but it would depend on the school taking up the offer.

Our competitions are also usually organised through schools, with teachers registering pupils and handling communication. We can accept independent pupil entries, but:

*Your school will be listed as your affiliation.

*A parent/guardian (or teacher) must complete the registration forms, code of conduct and photographic consent forms, and handle payment of the entry fee.

If you are interested, please contact us at events@youngspeakersscotland.org.uk.
