After the success of the debating competitions last term, we’re happy to confirm that that Young Speakers Scotland will be running both the Mace and Public Speaking Competitions again in 2023/2024.
Like last year, the first round of the Mace will be a prepared topic and the following two rounds will be impromptu. Preliminary rounds will take place on the 30th September & 7th October 2023. Entry to the Mace will cost £50 per school.
Preliminary rounds for the Public Speaking Competition will take place in-person, in Edinburgh, on the 11th & 18th November 2023 for both junior and senior speakers. Entry for the Public Speaking Competition is £25 for one speaker and £10 for each additional speaker entered per school.
The St Andrew’s Day Debate will also be taking place on Thursday 30th November 2023. Entry to the St Andrew’s Day Debate is free.
