Zaynab is a practising family law solicitor. She represented and then coached Team Kuwait at various WSDCs between 2003 to 2012, as well as debating for Leeds University at varsity level before moving to Glasgow. There she regularly judged school and university debating competitions, and later assisted with selection days for Team Scotland. Zaynab joined the board of Young Speakers Scotland in 2023.
Zaynab is currently a member of Glasgow’s Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons lay advisory board, and their representative on the College’s Scholarship Committee.
