Speak Up Scotland is our flagship programme, delivering free workshops to state schools from the Highlands to the Borders. These workshops build confidence by introducing skills of critical thinking and public speaking and, in so doing, help young people feel empowered to speak up in their lives.
We welcome schools with little to no experience of debating and through our workshops aid in setting up a debate club for the very first time. We work with pupils from S1-S6. At workshops, participants are introduced to the basics of debating and take part in a variety of fun, engaging activities in a welcoming environment. These sessions are led by our Programmes Director who has over a decade of debate coaching experience, including coaching the Scottish National Team to an historic win at the World Schools Debating Championships in 2024.
