On Sunday 30th October, we successfully ran in-person preliminary rounds of The Schools’ Mace Competition at Norton Park Conference Centre, Edinburgh. It was great to see all the Schools taking part in person after running the competition only online for the last few years.
Teams debated the prepped motion – This house would impose a term-limit of 10 years for all UK MPs – and two unprepared motions: This house would ban children from taking part in reality TV programmes and This house prefers environmental movements heavily prioritising a local agenda over a global one.
Thank you to the Schools that took part and the judges who volunteered their time.
Results, including teams breaking into the Finals Day, will be announced after the online preliminary rounds, being held on 12th November.
